Project Aims

We are working with The North East London Health and Care Partnership (a partnership of the health trusts, local authorities and clinical commissioning groups across the 8 NEL boroughs) to support young people and job seekers into roles in health and social care.
How you can help us
Help increase the pool of career ambassadors
One of the most successful aspects of the project so far has been ambassadors promoting careers with local schools, colleges and job centres. This engagement activity has had to change due to Covid and as a result, we are currently developing an ‘offer’ of online engagement. To deliver this we need ambassadors from all roles across health and care and all parts of North East London.
The word ambassador is being used broadly and describes any organisation and worker that promotes health and care careers to others in North East London. This covers a range of activities including writing blogs, giving talks, facilitating webinars, giving input into curriculum sessions with students, creating videos, offering work experience or involvement in pre-recruitment schemes. We are particularly looking for front line workers who can talk passionately about their role and why they love working in the sector.
Ensure the website content is up to date and accurate
The project developed a health and social care careers website for North East London (codesigned with young people and teachers). The vision for the website is that it will become a hub for careers information, work experience, apprenticeships and job opportunities on offer across East London as well as signposting to national information. If you have any ideas for content it should include or areas of it we can improve, please get in touch at This email address is being protected from spambots. Help us map current relationships, opportunities and gaps
A lot of good work is happening across North East London that has been led by individual or organisational relationships but which isn’t known about more widely. This could be in terms of ambassador activity, relationships with schools and work experience offered. We are trying to map all of the current activity so that we can promote the good work already happening and focus on providing additional resource where there are gaps in provision.
YOU Can Help Us!
Up until now the project has only engaged actively and directly with about a third of the 140+ secondary schools and colleges in the area
The aim is to have active links with all the schools and a virtual network of careers advisers we can send information to. We have good links with all of the local Job Centre Plus (JCP) offices but know that you may also be doing things directly and /or through local authority job brokerage departments. If so, we’d love to hear from you.
