We are looking for people interested in sharing their views and experience on improving health and care to join our Community Board.
Our mission is a happier, healthier, older age for East Londoners through our work focussed on workforce development, research and innovation. To do this, we know that it’s essential that the work we do is shaped by the people whose lives it affects: patients, carers and members of the public.
We are looking for new members to join our Community Board. You don’t need any particular skills or experience to join the Panel: all we ask is that you are based in East London and have an interest in sharing your views and experiences to help improve health and care.
We have been meeting virtually over the last year due to the pandemic, however hope to resume face to face meetings soon. These will be in Barking every two months and Community Board members will be paid £50 per meeting (2 hours).
“I joined the Community Board with the hope of improving matters in my part of the country: East London. I have come to realise how much support is needed in the community, from mental health, physical health to social and financial health.
Other members of the group are enthusiastic to help improve matters too. We all listen, learn and suggest small steps forward in achieving our same goal; improvement. We all have different experiences of life but have equal amounts of ambition for the success of the Board. I have learned that there is a lot to do, but hope that as a Board we can ‘walk the walk’, not just ‘talk the talk'” Margaret Sim, Community Board member
