We are looking for someone to support Care City’s work as an NHS England Test Bed, testing and growing the use of digital innovations across health and care services. For Care City, this is also a great opportunity to add to our expanding team. You can apply here, or read on for more information.

About us

Care City is an innovation centre for healthy ageing, founded by the London Borough of Barking & Dagenham and North-East London Foundation Trust. We research, innovate and educate to enable a happier, healthier older age. We aim to be the innovation partner to our local health and care system.

Care City is a start-up from within the public sector – with the freedom to take risks and be radical, and the partnerships to achieve real, practical change. We are a young organisation, and a talented, committed and friendly team.

About you

You are looking for a challenge and to be inspired. You want to work with public services - but not necessarily in public services - to change life for the better.

You have some experience of research, innovation, design or project management, but more importantly, a willingness to learn. You take responsibility for yourself, your work, and your learning and development. You are looking for a platform for your career, not a conveyer belt. You have strong people and problem-solving skills.

About the role

The Care City Innovation Test Bed is a system wide collaboration across Barking and Dagenham, Havering, Redbridge and Waltham Forest. The innovations are clustered around three themes:

Cluster 1: Older people living with long term conditions

Cluster 2: Older people living with dementia

Cluster 3: Carers

Your role would be to:

Support the Test Bed Programme Manager

Take responsibility for one of the three clusters of innovations in the Test Bed

Work with public service leaders, commissioners and practitioners to support testing and prototyping across health and care services

Work with innovators to support and learn from testing, and to spread their work nationwide
